RED HATTERS
Wear clashing coloured clothes - red and purple
and
don dashing hats with feathers and boas in hues of red and sometimes
purple
(when it is our birthday month) and we do this not because we are old;
and
don't know any better but because our children have flown the coop, our
jobs
are done with, and we now can focus on being carefree and having fun.
The
clashing colours represent the little girls that are inside each of us,
little
girls out to play; for the responsibilities to which we were harnessed
throughout
earlier lives - children, husbands, jobs - have diminished and our new
responsibilities are to have fun and kick up our heels in laughter and
love.
We are a women's group, with a membership at this time of 14 (our
maximum) having coffee and conversation at Ogden House each Tuesday of
the month, beginning
at 10:30 am. We formed our group approximately 4 years ago and
have
been going steady since.

Here are the Red Hat Ladies in reverse colours to celebrate ten years.
